What is a ClassCampus Question Bank?

It is a single ClassCampus module containing a large number of questions (typically >400) covering a single subject area, e.g. Key Stage 2 Science. The questions are categorised into branches of the main subject area, e.g. Physical Processes, and then further categorised into topic areas relating to a particular objective, e.g. Types of forces and motion.

How is a Question Bank used on ClassCampus?

A teacher generates a test from the bank of questions and then gives his/her students access to it. In creating a test the teacher first chooses the number of questions required and then the branch and/or topic areas the tests is to cover. The system will randomly pick questions from the selected areas to generate and save the test. This test can be previewed and the question selections modified if required. Once happy with a test the teacher adds it to the profile of work for the class and instructs his/her students to complete the test on-line.

How are tests used with ClassAct SRS?

As an alternative to students completing the created test on-line, the teacher can choose to download it to install and run on a ClassAct SRS system.  The same test will then be presented to the class with students responding using their SRS keypads.

What are pre-generated tests?

These are tests which LJ have created from the bank of questions and packaged with the question bank module. They have been designed to cover various stages/levels of the subject area. These tests can also be completed on-line or downloaded to run on ClassAct SRS.

How does a user access the Question Bank?

Providing that a tutor is given access to at least one Question Bank (they have to be set up as a Question Test creator), they would access it from the Main Menu page displayed after logging on. Students will see any tests in their Work Schedule and load them in the normal way.

What licenses are required for a customer to access Question Banks?
 Notes:
  1. Some ClassCampus questions types are not support by SRS, e.g. Questions requiring word type answers. When choosing to create a test which may be run on ClassAct SRS, the ‘ClassCampus and SRS’ platform criteria option must be selected to ensure that these questions will not be selected for the test.

An SRS test download takes the form of a SRS lesson package file (.lsb). When choosing the download option you can either download and save the file, or choose to have it sent to you via email. Depending on the size and number of tests selected, the lesson package file can become very large - the package size will be calculated and displayed to you before the download starts. To install a SRS package onto an SRS system, just double-click on the file and follow the on-screen installation wizard.
