Browser Requirements

For a full experience of ClassCampus it is recommended that you use the most up-to-date web browsers. The minimum requirements needed to access the ClassCampus system are automatically tested when you first attempt to enter the site. The checks made include:

• That your browser supports frames
• That your browser has session level cookies enabled
• That your browser supports and has allowed JavaScript execution
• If your browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer, that it is Version 5.0 or later
• If your browser is Netscape Navigator, that it is version 7.0 or later
• If your browser is Mozilla Firefox, that it is version 1.0 or later

A warning will be displayed if one or more of these conditions are not met. You will be allowed to continue but some functionality may not be present.

Note: Windows XP Service Pack 2 includes a number of security enhancements which may cause one or more of the above tests to fail. Fortunately, Internet Explorer gives you the option to easily override these restrictions. The site will function without pop-ups but the work report will not load automatically when a student hands in a chapter. If you wish to allow pop-ups then you should click right-click on the pop-up warning which appears at the top of the page and select the 'Always allow pop-ups from this site' option.

Recommended Browser

The recommended browser for accessing the ClassCampus site is Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 7.0. Use the link on the left to download the latest Microsoft Browser.

Generally, the browser security settings can be left high, however, if you experience any difficulty with the site or when loading content, check that the following options have been set:

1. Open the Internet Options dialog box from the Tools menu on Internet Explorer.
2. Switch to the Security tab, and click the Custom Level button for the content zone you wish to work under (e.g. Internet, Intranet etc).
3. Under' ActiveX Controls and Plug-ins', enable  'Run ActiveX Controls and Plug-ins' and 'Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting'.
4. Under the 'Scripting' section, enable the 'Active Scripting' setting.
5. If working in the Internet Zone, 'Per Session cookies' are enabled by selecting the 'Medium High' setting on the 'Privacy' tab.
6. Close the settings dialog box - you may need to restart your browser for the settings to take effect.

Note: These instructions are for IE6, the exact terminology and location of the settings may differ on other versions of Internet Explorer.
